Chairman of the North Tipp Ploughing championships Ray Clancy (Rathcabbin) who was ploughing vintage mounted class and was delighted that the weather turned out so good for the event
THE North Tipperary Ploughing committee organised a very successful championships on Sunday week last after a lapse of two years due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
In fact, it was the first time since 2011 that the annual event wasn’t cancelled because of poor weather conditions, with the lovely Spring sunshine bringing a wonderful buzz as all the participants were so delighted to be back ploughing competitively. Even the spectators enjoyed their visit, some coming for the first time, relaxing and enjoying a cuppa and a chat in the tent with the staff. It was truly a wonderful occasion for all and the atmosphere was electric.
The committee wish to offer their sincere thanks to the landowner for the use of his property and a special word of thanks to all the participants, some who travelled long distances. Many thanks to all who helped in whatever way to make the day such a great success. Proceeds from the day will be donated to Embrace, the farm accident charity, and many thanks to all who contributed.
