The team behind the new community hymn 'O Holy Cronan' is delighted to announce that the first official airplay of the new song is planned for this week.

The broadcast will take place on The Fran Curry Show on Tipp FM on Friday, 5th December at 10.30 am.

Created to mark the Church’s Jubilee Year 2025, the hymn has grown into a remarkable community project involving schools, musicians, parishioners, and Premier Credit Union.

Its first broadcast represents another important milestone in bringing this project to life. Brian King, CEO of Premier Credit Union, said: “We are thrilled to see ‘O Holy Cronan’ reach this moment. Hearing it on Tipp FM will be a proud occasion for the many people who helped shape this project.

“Premier Credit Union is honoured to support an initiative that celebrates Roscrea’s heritage, unity, and community spirit.”

Composer Séamus Doran added: “The support shown for this hymn has been extraordinary. It's first airplay on Tipp FM is something very special, and I’m grateful to everyone who has contributed to the journey of ‘O Holy Cronan’.”

Fr John Molloy PP said: “‘O Holy Cronan’ reflects our shared history, faith, and identity as a community. I am delighted that listeners across Tipperary will hear it for the first time on Tipp FM.”

The recording, which features Tadhg Maher, local musicians, and children from each of Roscrea’s four primary schools, is complete, and the accompanying video by Avalanche MultiMedia Studios will be released in due course.
