Roscrea Trail Blazers Hiking Club are visiting Kinnitty this week

With the clocks having changed Roscrea Trail Blazers have lost the last bit of evening light for walking but the popular local club are enjoying nights walks.

It's head torches for the foreseeable future for the hikers, who have members from Offaly, Tipperary and Laois and always welcome new faces to join the fun.

Their walk last Friday night was the Brittas Lake Loop outside Clonaslee led by Angela Cox.

It was a perfect night for walking under a clear, star filled sky. Well done to everyone that made the effort.

This Friday night’s walk (November 6th) is the Kinnitty Castle/Glinsk Castle Loop in the Slieve Blooms.

A fantastic forestry walk and one not to be missed. Distance: 7km, Grade: Easy/Moderate, Time: two hours. Meeting at the Kinnitty Castle Carpark at 7pm. Please bring head/hand torch.

Well done to members who spent the last week hiking on the island of Madeira, a smashing destination for hiking, and by all reports, a great trip.

They would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below.

To join the group and to see what the club has to offer please follow the contact details below.

If you would like to join them on any of their night walks or weekends away, you can contact Cathal on (086) 3399 193 and receive updates through WhatsApp.
