National Heritage Week in Ireland will take place from August 16th to 24th under the theme 'Exploring Our Foundations'. 

This week-long event celebrates Ireland's natural, built, and cultural heritage through community-led events. 

The theme encourages a deeper look into the origins of our communities, cultures, and identities, prompting exploration of ancient settlements, early industries, and the evolution of traditions.

Roscrea Tourism Committee are hosting a Lego competition during Heritage Week and invite entries from all age categories with the inspiration for your lego build to be any building, monument or place or a craft that has lived on through generations.

Entries are to be submitted to Roscrea Library from Monday 18th August to Friday 22nd August by 12 noon. An entry form, which are available at Roscrea Library, must be completed on submission of your Lego build.

This is the second year of this competition, with last years competition very well supported with the winning entry depicting the 12th Century Romanesque doorway situated across the street from the Round Tower, which was created by Lego enthusiast Tim Tierney.
