Two assaults in Shannonbridge during New Year's

The normally peaceful town of Shannonbridge witnessed two assaults on New Year's.

The Gardaí in Birr said today (Wednesday January 11) that they are appealing for witnesses to two assaults which took place in Shannonbridge recently.

One of these assaults occurred in a licensed premises and the other happened on the main street near the bridge.

The acts of violence broke out on the night of New Year's Eve into the early hours of New Year's Day, between 12 midnight and 1.20am.

  A Garda spokesperson told The Midland Tribune that any information provided will be treated with absolute discretion and confidentiality.
