Is it going to snow this week? Met Eireann gives updated forecast with wintry weather on the way
Over the weekend, Met Eireann was forecasting snow across parts of Ireland on Thursday and Friday along with a noticeable drop in temperatures.
The forecast stated that there would be a noticeable drop in temperatures with the chance of some showers of sleet and snow on to western coasts on Thursday night. It added that there would be showery outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow for a time on Friday.
In its latest forecast, Met Eireann is now just forecasting for temperatures to drop on Thursday night with with lows of 0 to +4 degrees. Met Eireann says that scattered showers will feed in from the northwest, some may be of hail or sleet, with snow possible on mountains in Ulster. Moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds.
According to Met Eireann, Friday will be cold and breezy with showers and bright or sunny intervals. There will be some hail or sleet showers in the morning, mainly in Ulster. Showers will ease later in the day as westerly winds ease. Highs of 5 to 8 degrees.
