What is the Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland for the coming week

Met Éireann is forecasting unsettled but mild weather for Ireland for the coming week with some heavy rain forecast at times.

According to the latest Met Éireann weather forecast for Ireland, it will be mostly cloudy with mist and fog to begin on Monday. Outbreaks of rain will be mainly confined to northern parts and will clear northwards though the morning. Brighter conditions with a few showers in the west and south will extend to the north and east through the afternoon. Cloud will begin to build from the southwest in the evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes.

Monday night: Many places dry with clear spells to begin on Monday night with mist and fog patches returning. It'll turn wet and blustery from the southwest as cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually spread northeastwards over the country. Some of the rain will be heavy, with spot flooding possible. Lowest temperatures will range 3 to 5 degrees in the north and east where it'll stay driest and clearest for longest, 6 to 9 degrees elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty as the rain develops.

According to the latest Met Éireann weather forecast for Ireland, Tuesday will be a wet and blustery day. The rain will be heavy at times with localised flooding. There'll be some mist and hill and coastal fog too. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees, in moderate to fresh, occasionally strong, and gusty southeast winds veering southerly. Further spells of rain or showers for a time on Tuesday night, heavy at times, but a clearance to drier weather with clear spells and just isolated showers will develop overnight. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with southerly winds generally easing. Mist and fog patches will develop also.

According to the latest Met Éireann weather forecast for Ireland, any mist and fog will clear on Wednesday morning to leave variable cloud and a few bright or sunny spells. It looks as though further spells of rain could affect parts of the south and east with drier conditions and just the odd shower further north and west. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in light variable breezes becoming easterly later.

According to the latest Met Éireann weather forecast for Ireland, Thursday will see further showers or longer spells of rain. Highest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees in a freshening northeasterly wind.

According to the latest Met Éireann weather forecast for Ireland, it will continue unsettled through Friday with low pressure pushing up further spells of rain or showers. There are early indications of potentially cooler and more settled conditions extending from the north through next weekend, however.
