Is it a UFO? Offaly people baffled by sighting on the roads in dead of night PIC: Niall O Mara
Offaly people awake late on Monday night last were treated to an unusual site that might have briefly taking them by surprise in the dead of night.
A number of trucks were on the move between Edenderry and Daingean as massive wind turbine blades were moved to a nearby windfarm.
Wind turbine blades can be 50 metres long and three of them were being transported overnight on Monday into Tuesday.
Photographer Niall O'Mara spotted the convoy and snapped an incredible picture that for a moment looks like something from another planet.
He said: "Saw this on way back from Edenderry last night as actually one of 3 wind turbine propellers were being transported along the R402 towards Daingean in the middle of the night."
