An Offaly pub's brilliant 'I'll give you my carbon footprint up the hole' comeback to an online comment is now available as a t-shirt.

JJ Houghs in Banagher posted a photograph of two pubgoers warming themselves at a lovely open fire with the caption: "First fire of the season."

While most people responded positively to the cosy scene on Facebook, one page, Working Holiday Ireland, criticised the use of turf as damaging to the environment.

They commented underneath the picture: "I see you’re burning turf?! Carbon footprint guys."

The absolutely brilliantly crafted and worded comeback (CLICK HERE TO READ IT ALL) included the now iconic line, 'maybe call in some day and I'll give you my carbon footprint up your hole'....

As well as going viral, that line has now been immortalised on a t-shirt by Offaly company Urban Celt.

The rather fetching t-shirt features the line as well as crediting JJ Hough's Singing Pub. We hope the pub is getting a cut but if not, given the response, you might just be seeing a few of these knocking around which can only be good for business.
