Tullamore man transferred money to Revolut account for two fake tickets

A MAN was duped into transferring money to another person's Revolut account for two fake tickets, the recent sitting of Tullamore District Court was told.

Conor Donnellan, 54 Saint Columba's Place, Tullamore was charged with committing the deception on June 28, 2023.

Mr Donnellan asked the injured party to transfer €400 to his account in exchange for two fake Ticketmaster Longitude 2023 tickets “with the intention of making gain for yourself.”

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told the court that Mr Donnellan had one previous conviction, for possession of drugs.

The defending solicitor Patrick Martin said his client was pleading guilty.

"He had purchased these Longitude tickets for himself and his partner because they wanted to attend. However, it then dawned on them that the tickets were in fact fake.”

Judge Andrew Cody stated that if Mr Donnellan didn't pay the injured party full compensation within two weeks time then he would be going to prison for four months.
