Marcus Sweeney explains for visitors how corn was stored and milled at Fancroft
Marking National Heritage Week in Roscrea and surrounding areas - the final day of Heritage week saw a trip to Fancroft Mill and Gardens.
The group were warmly welcomed by Marcus and Irene Sweeney to the very special site for what proved to be a wonderfully enriching experience for all who took part.

All were fascinated by the history of the site and guided tour of the beautifully restored mill. Refreshments were served in the cosy tearooms and all thoroughly enjoyed a ramble around the extensive gardens.

“Thanks to Marcus and Irene for hosting another great event”, Roscrea Heritage Society said. Fancroft, a hidden gem situated just 4km outside Roscrea is well worth a visit.
