The founding principal of Coolderry Central School in 1983, George Cunningham from Roscrea, paid a welcome return and presented over 200 new books to the Pat Carroll Memorial Library which he helped establish there in 2011.
He was warmly welcome by the now principal, Patrick McCarthy.
George, a famed author, historian and bibliophile, spoke to the assembled school about his love for Coolderry and his time there beginning in 1961.
