Service users and staff in the Happy Hive unit in St Cronan’s Service in Roscrea hosted a coffee morning on Wednesday,  March 13 to raise funds for Milford Care Centre in Limerick.

The people in the Happy Hive wanted to raise the funds in memory of their peer and friend, Pat Carroll, who attended St. Cronan’s Service for over 30 years and who sadly passed away in the good care of the staff in Milford Care Centre on February 4.

Pat was much loved both in his home place of Rathcabbin, Co Tipperary and in St Cronan’s Service, where he was involved in all aspects of life in St. Cronan's and  among many things in the setting up of the service user advocacy committee, which has become a driving force in the running of the service today.

Pat is deeply missed by his sister Sheila and all his family and by all in St Cronan’s Service, particularly everyone in the Happy Hive.

The coffee morning, which was supported by people from St. Cronan’s across their services in Roscrea, Nenagh and Birr, raised €1,061.09.

John Higgins, a volunteer for Milford Care Centre, received the cheque, presented by Margaret Ryan from the Happy Hive unit on Wednesday  last.
