THERE is plenty of fun and laughter in store for audiences in Rathcabbin from Thursday February 1st to Sunday February 4th, when Rathcabbin Players stage their annual production.

This year, for the first time, the group have chosen a Sam Cree comedy, “Don't Tell The Wife”.

Sam Cree (1928-1980) was a Northern Irish playwright, whose plays are widely performed on the amateur circuit.

Also, for the first time, Pat Kennedy, a long standing member of Rathcabbin Players, takes on the role of director. Pat's vast experience on stage over the years has informed and guided his direction.

“Don't Tell The Wife” is set in the living room of the Willis household in Belfast in the late 1960s. Bobbie Willis is a plumber, approaching 50, and his wife Edna is convinced her is going through a midlife crisis and becoming interested in other women. Her anxieties are confirmed by a mixed cast of characters, including a local busybody, a plumber's apprentice, his girlfriend, a lodger, a corporation official and a male escort, leading to some hilarious misunderstandings.

The cast of eight includes Fiona Maher-O'Brien, Marguerite Walsh, Hubert Hogan, Reuben Noyce, Maria Maher, Michael Hoctor, Michael Bowler, Catherine Burke.

'Don't Tell The Wife” opens on Thursday February 1st and runs nightly until Sunday February 4th.

Curtain up at 8pm, doors open at 7.15pm.

Booking essential on (087) 2164511 from 6.30pm-8pm daily.

Rathcabbin Players thank all their supporters over the years and look forward to seeing everyone for this production.
