Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange Wind Warning for 21 counties with a Status Yellow Wind Warning for the entire country

Ireland on alert as Storm Isha set to batter country with very strong winds

Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange wind warning for 22 counties ahead of Storm Isha.

The warning has been issued at 9am this Saturday morning, and will be valid from 5pm on Sunday, January 21, to 5am Monday, January 22 for Donegal and until 2am for the rest of the affected counties.

All counties except those in the centre of the country will be affected, with the warning issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, and all counties in Munster and Connacht.

A Status Orange Wind Warning for Donegal warns of very strong southwest to west winds with severe and damaging gusts.

Impacts include large coastal waves with wave overtopping, very difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees and damage to power lines. That is valid from 5pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday

Status Orange Wind Warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht is in effect from 5pm on Sunday until 2am on Monday.

A Status Yellow Wind warning for Ireland is in place from 11am on Sunday until 4am on Monday.
