Age Friendly Roscrea recently held a very insightful event focused on the men in our community and plans are underway to possibly resurrect the Men's Shed.

Their Men’s Health event was well attended last Tuesday, where they had Neil Dennehy, Physical Therapist, chat with the group about their general health, wellbeing, nutrition and exercise.

Social contact is very beneficial to us all and Neil spoke about looking at the opportunities in the community to meet other people through social clubs, community education, music groups. Mike Ryan from the North Tipperary Development Company attended and spoke for a few minutes on the possibility of setting up a Men’s Shed in Roscrea.

Age Friendly Roscrea look forward to seeing more men join our groups and we hope to have further men only sessions in 2024. Contact Mary at (089) 4682164 or Anne at (0505) 22550 for further information.
