Offaly horse romps home at staggering price to win in Dundalk

Offaly horse racing success at Dundalk for Tarsus

Tarsus and Cian Horgan are led back into the winners enclosure after their victory on Wednesday at Dundalk.

Having finished out of the first three in his first three races Tarsus stepped up on his previous efforts to sping a shock 66/1 victory last week for Rhode owner Mrs P. Harney when winning the Irish Stallion EBF maiden at a chilly Dundalk.

Making smooth headway on the outside under Cian Horgan a furlong out, Tarsus got the better of a great battle with Sorrento Sky in a driving finish to win by a head.

A delighted winning trainer Andy Slattery said afterwards: “We thought we had a nice two year old but he was disappointing one day up north so we ran him back here and Ben Coen said to put a tongue tie on him. He was working well.

"There is a winners race in two weeks time so we could go for that.”
