Body brought to Tullamore Hospital after woman is killed in Midlands crash

Gardaí in the Midlands are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single vehicle car crash in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford on Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 4:40pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a single vehicle collision on the on the N4 at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown.

The sole occupant of the car, a woman aged 80 years, was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel. She was brought by ambulance to Tullamore Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased, gardaí confirmed.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They also appeal to those with video footage (including dashcam) from the N4 at Lisnagrish at the time of the collision to make this available to them.
