Popular Offaly walkway to get revamp including more parking spaces

A popular walkways in Offaly is to get a revamp including new parking spaces in the vicinity.

Offaly County Councillor Eddie Fitzpatrick said he visited the walkway on the Figile River in Clonbullogue this week and confirmed the upcoming works.

"I was out with the area engineer earlier this morning and met with Maura Allen to look at the Loop Walk along the River where a commitment has been given to resurface the walk with new stone and plant shrubs at the entrance.

"Works will commence in Woodlawn Drive to provide extra parking space and this will also include works at the Community Hall on the footpath towards the school and in front of the Hall.

"I want to thank our new engineer Joe Harte and John O Reilly for the continued commitment to the area," he concluded.
