Teresa King and friends with the cheques from the Big Pink Breaskfast fundraiser.
On Saturday October 28th Teresa King hosted a Big Pink Breakfast fundraising event to raise money in support of cancer research and care at her home in Killeen.
From 10am to 1pm everyone who attended was treated a Tea Party like no other, where they were welcomed by Teresa and her family to enjoy a bountiful offering of homemade cakes, buns, scones, tarts and more.
Dickie Donnelly provided musical entertainment on the day which was live streamed for those who could not attend. The local community of Birr and surrounding areas showed a huge support both on the day and online in the lead up to and after Teresa's event.
Teresa organised a raffle and spot prizes which was a huge success. Between online donations and support given through raffle ticket sales, Teresa raised just over €8,000. She divided the money raised and presented cheques to the Irish Cancer Society who received €3,234 and the Oncology Department in Tullamore, where Teresa is being given treatment for lung cancer, received €4,010.
Teresa's four sons, Brendan, Alan, Shane and Andrew, along with her entire extended family are immensely proud of how successful the fundraiser has been and how much support was given to Teresa on the day.
