George Cunningham presenting copies of The Irish Review to Museum Director, Tori McMorran
RECENTLY the Ballycommon Craft Group exhibited their creative work based on the Book of Dimma at the Thomas McDonagh Museum in Cloughjordan.
Over 15 individual craft pieces in all mediums were on show. Museum Director Tori McMorran introduced the evening and Liz Powell gave an overview of the exhibits which will be on show in Cloughjordan until the end of September.
Liz introduced George Cunningham who gave an overview of Dimma’s early Christian Times and his monastery at Roscrea and hermitage at Monaincha. George also gave a detailed analysis of the book, its makeup, contents and history.

He had a special donation for the Museum - he presented five rare copies of the Irish Review 1911- 1913 which each has a poem by Thomas MacDonagh. These are very rare copies and Museum Director, Tori was thrilled with the donation as they did not have these.
The display is well worth a visit and is open until the end of the month.
