Road beside major Offaly shopping centre to close for six weeks

A major Offaly road is set to close for six weeks as road works take place with drivers warned of disruption.

Offaly County Council has given notice of the works on Fr McWey Street (L-1028-2) in Edenderry from Monday, October 2.

The road will close from the junction of the Carrick Road (R401) to the junction of the L-1028-2 at the Dunnes Stores carpark. It will remain closed until November 11.

The Council has said the road closure is required to facilitate phase two works for the Edenderry Inner Relief Road. Diversion routes will be in place to manage traffic and local access will be maintained.

Objections to this temporary closure can be made in writing to Edenderry Municipal District at the Town Hall, O'Connell Square, Edenderry and must be received before 12 noon on Wednesday, September 20.

Offaly County Council says it regrets any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.
