8 brilliant beauty buys to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Taking place every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month sees brands joining forces with charities to raise awareness and much-needed funds with limited edition products.

Started in America in 1985, the event has grown into a global phenomenon, with tens of millions of pounds raised over the decades for a cause that impacts so many people. According to Breast Cancer Now, around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed in the UK every year.

This year, beauty buffs are spoilt for choice, with fabulous skincare, make-up and hair heroes to treat yourself – or gift a loved one.

Here’s our pick of the best Breast Cancer Awareness charity products this October…

1. Mavala Limited Edition Power of Pink Mini Colour, £6.20, NailPolishDirect

Part of Mavala’s Power of Pink collection – which also includes a tinted lipbalm, eye pencil and micellar water, with £1 per product donated to CoppaFeel! – this hot pink polish also happens to be bang on trend for autumn.

2. Bobbi Brown Proud to be Pink Crushed Oil Infused Gloss Duo, £32

Bobbi Brown is part of the Estée Lauder Companies, which has raised over £65m since Breast Cancer Awareness Month began.

The brand will donate 100% of proceeds (minus VAT) from this pout-perfecting pair of lip oils to support breast cancer education and research projects.

3. Trinny London Lip2Cheek in Sherin, £26

If fuchsia’s not your thing, how about this gorgeous, suits-everyone soft terracotta shade?

Named after Trinny London customer Sherin, who has had three cancer diagnoses, for every pot of the cream lip colour/blusher hybrid sold, 10% of sales will go to Breast Cancer Now.

4. Q+A Vitamin A.C.E. Warming Gel Mask, £8.50

Packed with antioxidants (thanks to ingredients like cherry, acai, blackcurrant and blueberry), this nourishing gel mask warms up gently as it soaks into your skin.

During October, 20% of profits will go to research charity Against Breast Cancer.

5. Avon Mystery Box, £15

Marking the 30th year Avon has participated in the charitable cause, this time the beauty brand is offering a surprise selection of make-up favourites, with 100% of profits split between charity partners CoppaFeel! and Look Good Feel Better.

6. PCA Skin Hyaluronic Lip Booster, £20 (was £44), GetHarley

A major beauty bargain, PCA’s much-loved Hyaluronic Lip Booster is reduced from £44 to £20 this month on the GetHarley website, with all proceeds from the limited edition going to The Pink Ribbon Foundation.

7. Aussie Hair 3 Minute Miracle Hair Mask SOS Deep Treatment, £4 (was £7), Asda

Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign lets you choose from lots of hair, skincare and make-up essentials, with at least 10% of sales donated to Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

Our pick? The Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Mask works wonders on dry and damaged locks.

8. GHD Gold Hair Straightener in Orchid Pink, £179

GHD has given four of its best-selling tools – including the classic Gold Styler – a punchy pink makeover for October, serving as a reminder to check your chest every month.

A £250,000 donation from sales of the Pink Collection will be split between Breast Cancer Now and the Irish Cancer Society.
