Extras needed to recreate Forrest Gump running scene in Edenderry

An Edenderry fundraiser has put the call out for extras to appear in their recreation of the Hollywood classic, Forrest Gump.

It is all part of an event that sees Edenderry GAA and Derry Rovers soccer club joining forces to stage a double fundraiser in the shape of Tinseltown's most glamorous night of the year.

Recreating famous scenes from films such as Silence of the Lambs, The Snapper, Jerry Maguire and Forrest Gump, members and friends of both clubs will screen the results of weeks of preparation, filming and....incredible acting, obviously.

The Oscarz event sees the re-shot clips screened on the night, Sunday, October 28, at The Johnstown Estate Hotel between Johnstownbridge and Enfield. Awards are then handed out in varying categories, much like the world-famous Oscars.

The Forrest Gump group need extras to recreate the famous running scene from Forrest Gump. Volunteers can attend at the Derry Rovers pitch at 9.30am on Sunday morning, October 21.

The Oscarz fundraiser has been experiencing strong ticket sales but to check availability and secure your seat for the biggest night of the year, contact Martina Brady 0861705103, George Morrissey 0877509916 or John Mcnamee 0857220076.

Doors open on the night at 7.15pm.
