Gardaí seize car in Roscrea after foggy windscreen triggers inspection

Gardaí seized the car in Roscrea town centre

Gardaí policing traffic in Roscrea seized a car this week after they inspected the vehicle which had a fogged-up windscreen hampering visibility.

"On evening Tipperary Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a checkpoint in Roscrea, when a vehicle approached slowly with the windows completely fogged up, which was a danger to other road users", the Gardaí said.

"The driver somehow realised the checkpoint was ahead", the Gardaí said.

When they stopped and inspected the vehicle they discovered via the Garda Mobility App the motorist had no insurance, valid NCT or current road tax disc.

The tax on the Peugeot had expired 658 days ago.

"The car was seized and the driver will be appearing in court", the Gardaí said.
