Ciara Glackin and Becky Watkins
TWO talented Offaly soccer players have been selected on an Irish ladies panel. Killina Secondary School students, Becky Watkins and Ciara Glackin travelled out to Turkey on Monday with the Irish U-19 squad for two friendly matches.
Goalkeeper Glackin and striker Watkins are two very talented soccer players and the Irish squad are playing two games against Russia in Antalya, Turkey.
Both players schoolgirls soccer with Mucklagh and Glackin is now with Athlone Town while Watkins recently signed with Wexford Youths from Peamount United in Dublin – she won an FAI Womens' Cup medal with Peamount in 2020, coming off the bench to score a goal in their 5-0 win over Cork city.
The duo have starred for Killina Presentation Secondary School as they won the Leinster Cup recently and they will play in the national semi-final againstr Presentation Secondary School, Thurles when they return from international duty.
