THE MAN BEHIND THE WIRE: The 2021 Offaly Senior Hurling Championship team of the year
ST Rynagh's snatched victory from the grasp of Coolderry in the 2021 Senior Hurling Chamopionship final.
It was a dramatic end to an excellent game as St Rynagh's completed a memorable three in a row. Rynagh's and Coolderry were clearly the two best teams in Offaly this year and will be among the main contenders for the 2022 campaign, which will begin later in the Summer.
The following is my 2021 Senior Hurling Championship team of the year – it is based on club fare alone, not county action.

1: Goalkeeper - Conor Clancy (St Rynagh's)
A fit looking Stephen Corcoran had arguably his best ever season for Coolderry and was a very close contender. Conor Clancy, however, has been absolutely pivotal to the St Rynagh's success story in recent years. As captain, he has been an inspirational leader, he has barely put a foot wrong in his primary goalkeeping duties and the quality of his puckouts and clearances have been a great asset to them.
