Offaly customers without power after Storm Hector wreaks havoc

234 homes and businesses are without power in Offaly this morning following the passing of Storm Hector overnight.

Although the windy and wet weather predominantly affected the west of the country, ESB are reporting outages right across the county, including Offaly.

134 customers are affected after a fault at Belmont near Ferbane, with 45 without power on the Offaly side of Roscrea and 55 in a similar situation in Edenderry.

ESB crews are working on all of these areas with he Roscrea fault due to be fixed before 12 noon, the Ferbane issue to be resolved at 1pm and the Edenderry outage to be restored by 11am.

The ESB has said, "we apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible."

Meanwhile nationwide, the ESB have estimated that around 35,000 customers were left without power as a result of Storm Hector. They are aiming to have all faults fixed before Thursday evening.
