Planning approved for apartments and restaurant on Edenderry's main street
Offaly County Council has granted permission for two protected structures on Edenderry's JKL Street to be turned into three apartments and a restaurant.
The permission is subject to a number of conditions but is now free to move ahead on the site at 46/47 JKL Street. One side of the building is occupied and will continue to be occupied by Eden Decor, while a the premises next door and the upstairs level of both will be converted into apartments and a restaurant/bar.
The residential part of the proposal will see the retention and completion of one two-bed and two one-bed apartments on the first floor, and will include the erection of a balcony to the north elevation of each apartment.
The second part of this PMB Construction proposal will see 46 JKL Street, formerly home to Holt's Giftware, extended to the rear and transformed into a modern bar and restaurant.
This will include provision for kitchen, staff and toilet facilities, as well as a bar and external smoking area. The works will now go ahead subject to the applicant obeying the council's conditions. The entire application falls within council rules surrounding protected structures.
