Emergency services continue to deal with a chimney fire at the home of an elderly couple in Edenderry this afternoon.

No injuries were reported and the fire personnel have moved quickly to clean the chimney following the fire.

Emergency crews continue to be in operation across the country despite a Status Red snow and ice warning remaining in place until 6pm this evening.

Offaly Fire services were involved in a number of rescue operations overnight as Storm Emma ravaged the country.
