BREAKING: Met Eireann issues Status Red Weather Warning for parts of Ireland
Met Eireann has upgraded the Weather Warning for parts of the country to Red this morning.
The Status Red Snow-ice Warning is also in place for Dublin, Kildare Louth, Wicklow and Meath.
Heavy overnight snowfall has led to accumulations of snow between 5 and 10cm. Snow showers will continue to occur during today and again tonight with further accumulations. Total snowfall up to midday Thursday may reach 25cm.
It was issued at 5am this morning and is in place until 12pm tomorrow.
A Status Orange Snow-ice Warning is in place for Wexford, Cork, Carlow and Waterford while a Status Yellow Weather Warning is in place for Kilkenny, Longford, Wexford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
