BREAKING: Reports of stabbing incident on Laois-Offaly border

There are reports this morning that two people have been arrested following the stabbing of a man in Portarlington on the Laois-Offaly border this morning.

ALSO IN CRIME: Gardaí investigating two burglaries in one night in Edenderry

It's understood the incident occurred in an apartment block off French Church Street, and involved four to five people. Witnesses reported an ambulance close to the scene at around 8.30am this morning, February 16.

The man has reportedly been taken to hospital.  

The scene has been cordoned off by Gardai pending further investigation.
