6: Centre half back – Brion Carroll (Cappincur): Injuries effectively ruined Cappincur's championship aspirations. Bill Carroll only featured fleetingly while early season ending injuries to John Colgan and PJ Daly meant that Cappincur just couldn't win this championship. Yet they made the semi-final and gave Clara plenty of it before falling away in the second half. Brion Carroll really impressed for them at the heart of the defence. His composure and use of the ball caught attention and he is a comfortable choice for this team. Brian Malone had some excellent games for Ballinagar and would make it a different year but the competition for places on the half back line was very tough.
