Rising Offaly motiring star Alex Dunne has qualified in fourth for the F2 Feature Race in Bahrain on Sunday.
The McLaren Junior driver put in an excellent performance to finish just 0.316 seconds off poll sitter Leonardo Fornaroli.
In blistering heat in Bahrain, the Clonbullogue was fastest in the speed traps in sector two and sector three meaning he should have a good chance to overtake in the Feature Race on Sunday.
Before that though he will race in the F2 Sprint today. For that race the grid is reversed for the top ten so Alex will start in seventh. Both races are live on Sky Sports F1 today and tomorrow.
After the race Alex took to social media to share his thoughts.
"P4! Strong starting position for both races, left a little bit of time on the table but still a good place to be nevertheless
- Massive thank you to @rodin.motorsport, pace has been really strong and we know the race pace is there to move forward"
