Traffic disruption in Tullamore with one-way system in place in centre of town

Traffic is down to a one way system on Columcille Street in Tullamore today. As part of the Greenway project, paving is taking place along part of the footpath leading from Kilbeggan bridge into the town.

Traffic travelling north over the Kilbeggan bridge is prohibited while the work is taking place and vehicles are being directed towards Harbour Street. The footpath is also closed.

Works both ways are expected to last for a period of eight weeks.

Granite paving is also underway at Bury Quay as work progresses on the Greenway towards Cox's Bridge (Clara Bridge).

Roadworks on the Convent View is now complete, the footpath along the canal has been widened and new road markings are in place. A pedestrian crossing is to be put in place near the Kilbeggan bridge.
