Offaly boxer in third professional fight

Paul Loonam

PULLOUGH Boxer Paul Loonam is busy preparing for his third fight since turning professional.

Loonam, a talented amateur, who has since went professional, will box in one of nine fights on the card in the Warehouse at the Red Cow, Dublin on Friday, October 4.

Loonam started his boxing career in St Carthage's Boxing Club in Rahan and he will box Adil Rajesh Kumar Singh.

He turned professional last February, signing with JB Promotions, as his hopes of making the Olympic Games evaporated, in a very competitive and tough super featherweight division.

He had a productive amateur career, winning national U-22 and senior medals.

Now in his early 20s, he has been boxing since nine years of age and the highlight of his amateur career was winning a European U22 bronze medal in the lightweight class.
