Offaly’s chances of National League promotion next season have been clipped into 2/1 from 5/2 with bookmakers after Mickey Harte was appointed joint-manager with Declan Kelly.
The former Tyrone manager stepped away from Derry after just one season when their All-Ireland campaign ended at the quarter-final stage, however he did oversee a National League title with the Oakleafers and achieved back-to-back league promotions in his first two seasons as manager of Louth.
Now punters are confident of a positive impact in the Faithful County, with the chances of winning Division 3 rated at 11/2, while a first Leinster final appearance since 2006 has been trimmed into 10/1 from 12/1.
Louth, Meath, Kildare and Westmeath are all being given a slim chance at 12/1 apiece to deny Dublin in their bid to extend a hot streak of 13 consecutive Leinster titles, while the Boys in Blue are 10/3 joint-favourites alongside Kerry in the race for the Sam Maguire.
The Harte Effect?
2/1 Offaly to be promoted to Division 2
11/2 Offaly to win Division 3
10/1 Offaly to reach Leinster Final
150/1 Offaly to win Leinster SFC
500/1 Offaly to win All-Ireland SFC
