RAHEEN

Manager – Padraig Farrell;

Selectors – Martin Boland and Aidan Sheil;

Captain – Brian Crombie and Dylan Hyland;

Retirements/Long term injuries – Eoin Corcoran and Richie Reynolds;

New players – None;

Last year – Beat Shannonbridge in the relegation play off;

Star player – Dylan Hyland;

Prospects – Raheen are capable of blowing very hot and cold and it is hard to know where they stand. Failure to qualify out of the group was a disaster for them last year. They had to survive a relegation play off but absolutely nothing should be read into that. They are very serious contenders and are capable of winning the championship. Raheen have one of the best forwards in Offaly in Dylan Hyland. He is a huge player asset for them, the best and most important player at this grade but that is part of the challenge facing Raheen. He is always capable of shooting the lights out and generally does but there are plenty of times when Raheen either wait for him to do it or won't win if he doesn't or other players don't share the load. Sharing this load is the challenge facing Raheen and part of their problem is that they are a middle of the road team without Hyland. He could inspire them to the title and anything is possible but don't put your house on them.
