Offaly player named  SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Player of the Month

Former Mucklagh FC player Ellen Dolan who is now playing for Peamount has been named the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Player of the Month for May 2024.

This is the second time that she was was named as the player of the month in the league, having also scooped it in October/November of last year, as well as being one of three nominees for the PFA Ireland Women's Young Player of the Year 2023.

She was presented with the latest award at PRL Park in Greenogue, Dublin.

The 17-year-old from Offaly scored seven goals to finish as joint second top goal-scorer for the League-winning Peamount last season and capped a memorable season by being called up to the senior squad, under former manager Vera Pauw.

She was in the Ireland squad for the final two of Ireland's UEFA Nations League campaign against Hungary in Tallaght Stadium and then against Northern Ireland in the National Stadium, Belfast on Tuesday, December 5, but did not feature.

The talented Killina Presentation Secondary School student was also a key player for the Irish U-19s side which qualified for the EURO finals tournament in Lithuania. They have been drawn in Group B alongside Spain, Germany and Netherlands.

Another Offaly player, Aoife Murphy-O'Connor from Tullamore was also included in the training camp ahead of the tournament later this summer.
