Red warning issued as Storm Isha set to hammer Ireland with damage expected
A rare Status Red Weather Warning has been issued by Met Eireann with Storm Isha set to hammer Ireland throughout Sunday and into the early hours of Monday morning.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Red Marine Storm Warning from Erris HEad to Bloody Foreland to Fair Head on the north coast.

Met Eireann states that southwest to west winds will reach storm force 10 or violent storm force 11, just one level below hurricane force winds.
The entire country is covered by Status Orange Wind Warnings at various times on Sunday and Monday.
A Status Orange Wind Warning for Donegal firstly is valid from 5pm on Sunday to 5am on Monday. Met Eireann warns that Storm Isha will bring very strong southwest to west winds with severe and damaging gusts.
Impacts include large coastal waves with wave overtopping, very difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees and damage to power lines
A Status Orange Wind Warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht comes into effect at 5pm on Sunday until 2am on Monday. Met Éireann says Storm Isha will bring very strong southwest winds with severe and damaging gusts.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning for Ireland comes into place at 11am on Sunday morning and remains in place until 4am on Monday.
Storm Isha will bring strong and gusty southwest winds with heavy rain at times.
