Puska trial interrupted but judge hopes to resume tomorrow

CCJ

Trial is taking place at the Central Criminal Court

NO evidence will be heard in the trial of Jozef Puska today (Wednesday, November 1).

Judge Tony Hunt told the jury at the Central Criminal Court that the trial had hit “its first speed bump” and for reasons he did not want to go into, it could not proceed today.

“We're very hopeful it'll be a temporary situation,” he told the jury.

Judge Hunt apologised and said the trial had been going well but things like this happen all the time.

He said he would have further information for the jury at 11.15am tomorrow (Thursday) when the trial is due to resume.

Anne-Marie Lawlor, SC, prosecuting, said her final two witnesses would be present to give evidence.

Jozef Puska (33), Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Tullamore, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Ashling Murphy at Cappincur, Tullamore on January 12, 2022.
