Clodiagh Gaels and Clara in action in the SHC "B"
THE second round of the Offaly Senior “B”, Intermediate and Junior Hurling Championships is on this weekend.
Senior “B” hurling is being very keenly contested with six teams in the one group and the top four qualifying for the knockout stages.
The format gives clubs a bit of margin for error but the stakes are big for the first round losers: Shamrocks, Lusmagh and Clara. No club will want to lose a second successive game as it will really pile the pressure on them.
SHC “B” fixtures this weekend are:
Birr v Clodiagh Gaels; Saturday, July 22 in Kinnitty 3pm; Verdict – Clodiagh Gaels.
Clara v Kilcormac-Killoughey; Saturday, July 22 in O'Connor Park 3pm; Verdict – Kilcormac-Killoughey.
Lusmagh v Shamrocks: Saturday, July 22 in Doon 3pm; Verdict – Shamrocks.
Intermediate Hurling Championship Fixtures
Group 1
Coolderry v Belmont: Saturday, July 22 in Banagher 3pm; Verdict – Coolderry.
Drumcullen v St Rynagh's: Saturday, July 22 in Lusmagh 7pm; Verdict – Drumcullen.
Group 2
Edenderry v Carrig-Riverstown: Saturday, July 22 in Kinnitty 4.45pm; Verdict – Carrig-Riverstown.
Shinrone 2-17 Seir Kieran 0-20 (played Thursday evening)
