New Peace Commissioner Elza Alex
An employee of the Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore, Elza Alex, has been appointed as Peace Commissioner for Offaly and surrounding counties by Minister Simon Harris.
Originally from India, Elza has been living in Ireland with her family from Kottayam district, Kerala for over a decade and a half.
A resident of Mullingar she is involved with the local community and is active in various voluntary services incuding St Vincent de Paul, AWARE, Team Hope and the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil.
Elza is also the membership officer and treasurer of Mullingar Badminton Club and is involved with St Stephen's Parish in Mullingar.
She is married to Fr. Ninan Kuriakose, a priest with the Indian Orthodox Christian, and the couple have three children: Kuruvilla, a physiotherapist based in England and students Ann and Alexander.
