Woman allegedly broke another woman’s nose with headbutt at pub in the Midlands

A woman allegedly broke another woman’s nose with a headbutt, a sitting of Portlaoise District Court was told.

Carrie Orr, 26, with an address at 2 Featherbed Lane, Main Street, Borris-in-Ossory is accused of assault causing harm at O’Malley’s on Main Street in Rathdowney on July 2, 2022. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the injured party “suffered swelling and bruises to her nose and face” and attended at a hospital Emergency Department where a successful nasal manipulation took place. 

He described the injury as “an alleged broken nose from a headbutt”. 

Judge Andrew Cody granted legal aid and adjourned the matter to Portlaoise District Court on June 1 for either a plea or date for hearing.
