Woman in court after damaging hotel room in the Midlands
A woman was fined for damaging a hotel room in Portlaoise in 2019.
Deanna Gill, 24, with an address at Sheane, Rathangan, Co Kildare paid over €300 compensation, the rest of the €690 owed in relation to the damage caused to a room at the Killeshin Hotel between October 8 and 10, 2019.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the defendant had rented a room at the hotel on the dates mentioned and the damage was noticed when she left.
“€690 damage caused to the room. The television was ripped from the wall,” Sgt Kirby told the court. He said the woman has one previous conviction.
Solicitor Michaeal Byrne said has paid compensation and hadn’t taken the lead in damaging the property. He said she was in the hotel room with her then partner who has since died.
Noting compensation had been paid, Judge Andrew Cody convicted the woman and fined her €200.
