Met Eireann issues nationwide warning for snow with accumulations expected in many areas
Met Eireann has issued a nationwide warning for snow and a number of other warnings with the national forecaster stating that accumulations are expected in many areas.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow Snow Ice Warning for Ireland from 3am on Thursday until 11pm on Thursday.
Met Eireann is warning that rain, sleet and snow will spread northwards across the country later on Wednesday night and during Thursday accompanied by strengthening easterly winds. Accumulations of snow are expected in many areas along with icy conditions.
Sleet and snow will likely transition to rain in southern areas for a time.
Met Eireann says possible impacts include: Hazardous driving conditions, Travel disruption and Poor Visibility.

Met Eireann has also issued Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice Warning for Ireland from 9pm on Thursday until 10am on Friday
A third warning for Snow and Ice has also been issued. This warning applies to Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan. This warning cautions that sleet and snow will slowly clear eastwards on Thursday night and early on Friday with further accumulations of snow expected.
