WARNING: Irish consumers advised to cease use of vacuum cleaner due to risk of fire and burns

Irish consumers are being advised to cease use of a popular vacuum due to a risk of fire and burns.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), BISSELL is recalling certain Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Floor Cleaners from shops for repair.

Some battery management circuit boards may be susceptible to hot spots posing a risk of overheating which may lead to fire and burns.

The model number - located on the product information label located behind the clean water tank on the back of machine - of the affected products is 2582E.

All batches of the affected model are in scope of this action.

The products were sold in Argos and Currys in the Republic of Ireland.

If customers have an affected product, they should remove the vacuum from the charging base, stop using the vacuum and return the product to its original point of purchase.
