Shops have urged Irish customers to return a faulty electrical product due to the risk of electric shock and fire.
That's according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), which has issued a recall alert for the Aroma Home Plug-In Salt Lamp Night Light (model number GL093) from TJX Ireland Unlimited Company.
Approximately 216 affected products were sold at TK Maxx and Homesense in the Republic of Ireland from December 2022 until January 2023.
The affected batch numbers are 700540, 700545, 700549 and 700552.
The plug pin dimensions and construction of the product reportedly do not meet the required safety standards; the construction of the product allows moisture from the salt lamp to drip onto metal components with mains voltage supply, which can lead to electrocution or fire.
