Tullamore is falling behind other towns in the Midlands says Cllr Sean O'Brien

Independent councillor asks supporters to back Tullamore candidate in General Election

AN Independent councillor, previously a member of the Labour party, has announced his decision to back Fianna Fáil's Tullamore based candidate Cllr Tony McCormack in the forthcoming General election.

Cllr Sean O' Brien said he took his decision as he feels Tullamore, as the county town, needs its own TD.

"Tullamore needs a TD and we have a great chance to get one with Tony McCormack as a candidate for the Election on November 29," outlined Cllr O'Brien,

He said that Tullamore needs a lot of investment as, he felt, the town was falling behind the other large towns in the Midlands.

"We are the capital town in Offaly and it would be fitting that this area has its own TD who can lead the drive for more investment and Government funds to develop all the services in the area," stated the Tullamore town based public representative.

" I was elected as a councillor in the recent local elections with a great vote from the whole of the Tullamore Electoral area. My promise to people was that I would work hard for the whole area for more housing, better services, more jobs, footpath and road repairs, health services, education services, the N52 By Pass, better train services and much more. Having a local TD will assist me with delivering on all of these important issues," continued Cllr O' Brien.

He asked all of his supporters to consider giving their No.1 vote to Tony McCormack on November 29.

"This is a real chance for this area to have its own full time TD and directly help Tullamore and Offaly to get its rightful share of Government and private investment," stressed Cllr O' Brien.
