Offaly football legends Tommy Greene and Paddy McCormack will meet GAA President, Jarlath Burns, on Thursday, July 31st, the exact date of Offaly's first Senior Football title win in 1960.
Both men starred on the day and are featured in a new DVD, 'Tommy Greene - The Dynamo from Daingean'. A limited DVD edition of 2O copies, signed and numbered by Tommy Greene, in aid of Offaly Hospice will be available from Offaly Hospice and Daingean GAA and the video will be available shortly online also.
An initial showing of the DVD charting the life story of Tommy Greene was shown to a packed gathering at Maunsell's, Tullamore late last year.
The DVD was produced by a nephew of Greene's, John Gallagher and also features some of his peers from that time, including Paddy McCormack, Phil O’Reilly and Charlie Wrenn from the Offaly panel and Joe Hanlon, a member of the Daingean team that won its firstCounty title in 1962. Current Daingean chairman, David Walsh, also has his say.
